Moving Beans Is Part Of UK's Coffee Week - Join In!

It’s UK Coffee Week!

UK Coffee Week is a celebration of the UK’s vibrant and thriving coffee scene. The purpose of this celebration is to unite the UK’s coffee industry and its customers to raise money for people in need that are also part of the World’s coffee growing communities. In doing so, we not only unite the UK’s coffee industry, but the global coffee community as a whole.

During Coffee Week, Moving Beans will be donating 10% of its sales to Project Waterfall. From helping the environment by eliminating polluting plastic waste, Moving Beans is now also going to do it’s part to help the global coffee community.

Project Waterfall is an initiative established to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities all around the world.

This year, UK Coffee Week 2018 and Project Waterfall have partnered up to raise funds for a new project in the rural Jabi Tehnan district of Ethiopia. The country is particularly special to all of us coffee drinkers, since Ethiopia is considered the biological and cultural home of coffee. 38% of the people living in Jabi Tehnan rely on coffee for their livelihood.

Moreover, Ethiopia is also one of the countries that struggles most with the water crisis. 75% of the population lack access to clean water and 95% lack access to sanitation. This project aims to bring clean drinking water and sanitation to 7,000 people over the next 4 years!

Since 2011, Project Waterfall has raised £800,000, changing over 27,000 lives in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Rwanda, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.

UK Coffee Week is a fundraising campaign with Project Waterfall at its heart, raising money to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities. Learn more about UK Coffee Week 2018 here.
